Kilkenny’s Darren O’Neill enjoyed great success at the National Stadium on Friday last when he retained his middleweight title beating European Youth champion Jason Quigley (18) 6-1 in the Irish National 75kg final.

Ray Moylette added another feather to his cap on Saturday night in the National Stadium in Dublin. The Islandeady man who boxes for St Anne’s in Westport picked up his first national senior men’s title at the 64kg weight after a 10-3 win over Stephen Donnelly from All Saints in the final.

All eyes were on local man Darren O’Neill at the National Stadium on Friday last. Darren lost out to Olympian Kenny Egan in the 2005 and 2006 finals at light heavyweight before moving down to middleweight.
